As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible community for your ongoing support and kindness.

SARCOMA STRONG 2025

In August, Jonny’s Gold Runners, a team of 40 enthusiastic participants, took part in the Sarcoma Strong 5K Run/Walk in Hamilton, Ontario (the event’s sole Canadian location).

We ran/walked to raise awareness and funds for sarcoma research. The day was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: to support families facing the same challenges Jonathan did and to help advance care and understanding for those affected by this rare cancer.

We’re proud to share that Jonathan Brown Foundation raised $15,425 in support of Sarcoma Strong.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Michelle Ghert and her Musculoskeletal Oncology team at McMaster University for their continued commitment to advancing sarcoma research, and to Dr. Matthew DiCaprio, founder of Sarcoma Strong, for his collaboration in ensuring these funds remain local while still being recognized as part of the global Sarcoma Strong movement.

TERRY FOX 45TH ANNIVERSARY RUN

$4,725 Raised!

In September, Jonny’s Gold Runners were back at it again, proudly taking part in the Terry Fox 45th Anniversary Run. Our team walked and ran together to honour those we’ve lost and to celebrate the lasting impact of the work Terry Fox began. The event brought together friends, families, and supporters who continue to make Jonathan’s legacy shine bright. Together we raised $4,725 for the cause.

Even after decades of remarkable fundraising and awareness, rare bone cancers such as Osteosarcoma and Ewing Sarcoma - the same cancers that touched the lives of Terry Fox and Jonathan - continue to need more focus and research. Together, we’re helping to change that.

JBF will continue to raise funds and offer support until no family ever has to face these devastating diagnoses and prognoses again.
