Here’s What We’ve Been Up To

It’s been an exciting few months for the Jonathan Brown Foundation, and we’re thrilled to share some wonderful updates with you in this quarterly edition of our newsletter!

Jonny’s Gold Ribbon Gala 2024

We are still overwhelmed with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible success of Jonny’s Gold Ribbon Gala 2024. Thanks to our generous community, sponsors, and supporters, the donations kept coming in even after the event. In February, we were thrilled to present Keaton’s House – Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice with our final tally: a cheque for $353,484 to fund the creation of Jonny’s Teen Room. This special space will be dedicated to teenagers facing terminal illness, offering them comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging. We are so proud that Jonny’s legacy will continue to bring hope, strength, and community to young people when they need it most.

Coldest Night Of The Year 2025

We were proud to take part for the fourth consecutive year in the Coldest Night of the Year, alongside our amazing friends at SisterAct — a group of dedicated women committed to giving back and supporting meaningful community causes. SisterAct has been an incredible partner and advocate for the Jonathan Brown Foundation, and we are deeply grateful for their continued support. Together, we raised an impressive $7,000 for Eagles Nest Waterdown, helping to fund affordable mental health services in our community.

JBF Scholarship Program

We are excited to announce the second year of the Jonathan Brown Foundation Scholarship Program. The scholarship program is aimed at young adults who are cancer survivors, awarding scholarships to Grade 12 students who have demonstrated resilience and perseverance, supporting their post-secondary goals and recognizing their strength.

Inspired by Jonathan, who pursued his academics even while receiving treatment, we understand the added stress and challenges that come with balancing high school and a serious illness. This program is a tribute to his determination and a way to support others facing similar struggles.

Keaton’s House - June Matching Campaign

We’re excited to announce our second annual June Matching Campaign. During the month of June, every dollar you donate will be matched — doubling your impact. All funds raised will go directly toward Keaton’s House – Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice. Recognition Wall Update

During the promotion of Jonny’s Gold Ribbon Gala, we shared our intention to feature a sponsorship plaque in Jonny’s Teen Room at Keaton’s House – Paul Paletta Children’s Hospice, recognizing the generosity of major donors and supporters. Although Keaton’s House is still under construction, we want to assure you that this special recognition wall remains very much part of the plan. We look forward to celebrating and honouring those who have made this project possible once the space is complete.

We are so grateful to those who have contributed and helped bring Jonny’s Teen Room to life - and future gifts of $5,000+ will also be recognized on this wall, allowing donors to leave a lasting legacy of support and compassion for the teens and families who will benefit from this space.
