Our Vision

  • Recreational Play

    Whether you're picking up a paddle for the first time or already love pickleball, the courts are intended to be a place where people of all ages and skill levels can play, connect and feel part of the community.

  • Youth Programs

    We envision opportunities for youth to learn pickleball, build confidence and enjoy an active, social experience in their community. The courts could provide a fun and welcoming place for young people to develop new skills, make connections and discover a sport they can enjoy for years to come.

  • Lessons & Clinics

    Future lessons and clinics could give players of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to learn the fundamentals, develop their skills and build confidence on the court. Whether you're new to pickleball or looking to take your game to the next level, the courts could provide a welcoming place to learn, practice and have fun.

  • Tournaments

    The courts could provide a home for community tournaments, corporate tournaments, friendly competitions and special pickleball events, bringing people together from Carlisle and beyond.

  • Community Events

    The courts could provide a fun and active setting for fundraisers, community tournaments, social events and other special activities.

The Story

For 200 years, Carlisle United Church has been a place of faith, fellowship and service. Today, the church is looking for new ways to welcome and connect with the wider community by making better use of its outdoor space. Working in partnership with the Jonathan Brown Foundation, the Jonathan Brown Community Pickleball Courts are one part of that vision - creating a place where people of all ages can play, gather and build community.

Our Goal - $75,000

JBF has provided the initial funding to launch this vision and bring the Jonathan Brown Community Pickleball Court one step closer to reality. Now, we’re inviting our community to come together and help raise the remaining funds needed to build a lasting place for Carlisle to play, connect and come together.

The Plan

An affordable annual membership fee will provide access to the courts while helping generate ongoing revenue for maintenance, upkeep and future improvements.

Members will register online and receive a personal or seasonally rotated PIN code for secure gate access. Membership will include a basic liability waiver, helping ensure that everyone using the courts understands and accepts the guidelines for safe and responsible use. Controlled access also helps protect the courts and surrounding property.

The courts are envisioned as a place for recreational play, youth programs, lessons, tournaments and community events - creating opportunities for people of all ages to play, connect and enjoy the space together.
